What is Framing in light and dark?
"In visual arts and particularly cinematography, framing is the presentation of visual elements in an image, especially the placement of the subject in relation to other objects. Framing can make an image more aesthetically pleasing and keep the viewer's focus on the framed object(s)." And for light and dark "Play with light and shadows to sublimate the everyday life. Through light and shadow photography, you can transform people into anonymous silhouettes, sometimes into threatening shadows. You can attenuate the depth of field with darkness to get graphic and mysterious photographs."
Statement of intent
I aim to produce the best of the best pictures to demonstrate and communicate my ideas and there meaning behind each image. At the end of this project I will choose and show my best most developed photographs and place them in this website so they can be viewed and hopefully my grades would be exceed my expectations thanks to my images.
I'm going to use black and white because it will have an give a feeling that it was taken in past but it was actually taken in the present and that makes it more effective and powerful and it also creates this type of feeling that that the abstract of the past can create a stronger emotion than the future.
The Photographers I am interested in are Adam Burton for his west American countryside photos and Lee fried lander for his pictures taken while inside a car which makes it look like its telling a story about the journey of someone. The skills I want to develop is Shutter speed at at most because it's the one skill that I couldn’t perfect in and to maximise my skill in shutter speed I could take pictures that could possibly even amaze the photographers themselves.
Another skill I wanna develop in this project is that it's not much of a skill but instead a habit and its that I have to take lots and multiple amounts of photos/pictures because it makes more easier to find the perfect one than taking one perfect picture which isn’t even that perfect at all.

My theme is framing. My theme is going be using a mirror to create an atmosphere of two different words I am going plan to use both framing and light and dark to see which one is better. I am interesting in framing because I liked how Vivian Maier work looked.
Vivian Maier
Content
I can see Vivian Maier on the silver tray and the camera is focused on her the most the image is kinda old because you can tell by the background. I think this image is from a city or in new York the background is black and you can only see a jacket. its black and white because the front is white and the back is black.
I can see a vivian maire on the mirror and its black and white.

Composition
The focused point is the person face and the silver tray and you cant even see the camera and that makes interesting the light is only focusing on the girl and the back is dark and they even used rule of third my eye is drawn to the image the silver stands out and the lighting looks kinda dark and the depth of field is in the back in the jacket because you cant see the image probably the focus point is the mirror.
Comment
I like this image because the person who took the picture is not even in the image and that looks like they edited the photography took this image because he wants to show people that you doesn't have to put your hands ion the camera.
Connection
The theme on this image is framing and this is relevant to my work because i think i could do framing because it looks interesting and fun this has been taken by a professional photographer.

Composition
The focus in this image is the boy on the car drinking in the mirror and my catches the colorful balloon and the kid on the bike doesn't know if he is taken by a picture and that is shutter speed and my eye catches on the half picture and that is rule of third and the boy in the car doesn't look ready because his eye is closed or they just meant to do that or something. The strongest leading line is the edge of the mirror and there is a leading line on the seats and that make look at the people and that is depth of field and even the bike has depth of field and there is strong lead on the balloon. The background is white and is stands out the boy on the mirror is big because they zoomed in probably and the actual one is wide and and skinny
COMMENT
I like how the photographer has made a contrast in color and has created a sense of a different world inside the mirror. although i am not going to go to mexico, the pictures inspires me to add a contrast in colors and create and effect of two different places.
CONNECTION
The theme of this image is using mirrors as a framing techniques and it links to my work because i am also trying to implement the use of mirrors into my work and not in a studio setting. i also plan to keep my images in color.

I like this image because the boy in the car doesn't even know if the person took the picture or not and he wasn't even ready he looks like he is sleeping and drinking and the people in the background doesn't know if they are in the picture or not and the image doesn't look old it looks like brand new.

how to take a good picture
I am going to use the inspiration of layering from this image as I feel it would be a good idea for framing. I want to do try and create the same effect as the photographer. I have seen a fan that I feel would work well as it has different shapes . I will then use the picture and put on Photoshop and take out the colour to allow it to be see through. This will then work as a layer for the images I have already taken.
SHOOT 5
I feel that this image is the strongest and will be the best one to use for my idea of layering.
I have used Photoshop to crop these images as I like the compositions of a quarter circle rather than a full circle as it show more of the image at the back. I have changed them to black and white to make the image more like Vivian h

Evaluation
For this project we started by looking at framing. I then did some further research and decided to focus on the theme of framing. The reason why i chose this theme is in my opinion because i think i could do more in framing and i could learn more about the work. I want to do framing because i saw someones work on the website and i thought i could get higher grade and i think i could work much better and what i like about framing is that you could I also enjoyed using Photoshop because it taught and showed me how to edit and make it look more professional it also showed me how we can reflect and improve on it another thing reason I enjoyed using Photoshop because it taught and showed me how to edit and make it look more professional it also showed me how we can reflect and improve on it
During this project the part i enjoyed the most was developing my skills and images by manipulating my outcomes in Photoshop. I really enjoyed going onto the new adjustment layer and exploring the different tools that are there for photography. The one filter i thought was most effective was the last picture on photo shop because i had one picture and i added black and white and i had another picture and added black and white and put it on top of it because that is what my photographer did and i thought i could do the same thing as Vivian Maier because she inspired me and it looked good.
During this project one new techniques i have experienced was how to use the aperture and shutter setting on my camera. This helped me to realize how i could improve my images by adjusting the setting so that my images were not too dark or light.
Another technique i experienced was how to take a picture of rule of thirds.
I learnt how to use the crop tool and i improved the images further by learning how to crop the images and making it small an zoom in to the work.
On my next project the technique i would like to develop further is how to improve my images by finding the correct locations i.in order to do this i think i will need to plan in greater detail so that i spend time finding the correct backgrounds and locations which may mean i will need to take the camera home. I realized to get the best shots i need to be prepared to work in my own time and away from school.
By researching photographers who have focused on Framing and light and dark for their main body work.I have learnt that taking these pictures requires skill, patience. I really enjoyed using shutter speed on my camera and I enjoyed this project a lot as well.
The techniques i enjoyed the most was shutter speed.
This is because i felt it developed my skills and helped me to refine my work.
I enjoyed using the manual settings on the camera and used aperture.
I also learnt how to set-up the lights.
